This week Global Handmade Hope signed the Fair Trade Charter. So what exactly is this charter? It is a group of individuals and organizations that have a shared vision of a world where justice, equity, and sustainable development drive trade in ways where everyone can have a decent and dignified livelihood and develop to their full potential.

Led by the World Fair Trade Organization and Fairtrade International this new Charter has been put together to help raise awareness about the importance and impact of Fair Trade. The charter highlights Fair Trade’s role in addressing issues like inequality, gender rights, climate change and other topics of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. If you would like to read about the UN Development Goals, we have several blogs you can reference.
